I never though I'd hit that age where I'd be excited for when I get vacuums instead of car parts in the mail. Well, that age is 27, and though I still get excited for car parts in the mail I was pretty excited to see this beast.

Kinja'd!!!

it's got some ass to it both sucking wise and weight but it moves easily. Lays down pretty flat to get under everything and overall did a killer job. Though a bit heavy light I mentioned before, the brushes are strong enough to pull the whole thing along the floor with little assistance. It replaced this guy

yes it's being held together by duct tape. No I didn't do the edges of my carpet yet.

So best buy free to deliver, normally $230 ish, they ran it for $200, online coupon promo code dropped it down to $145 ish with tax.

It empties easy, adjustable brush heights, and had the pet buster 5000 attachment which was a major selling point because of this little guy

Kinja'd!!!

he's a little special so he gets scared easily. When he does his hair acts like the flares of an AC130 as seen here.

Kinja'd!!!

The couch is spotless and I couldn't be happier. It also conquered the mighty kitty tower as well - no easy task for even the best of vacuums.

I've looked into other, more expensive options (a problem I seem to have in going overkill on just about everything I buy) but this seemed like it was potent enough for me and did a killer job. If anyone would like a duct taped together red dirt devil it's out by my dumpster.

Hooray for sucking! Wait... Ugh... Congrats on the apartment! Just wait til you start buying stupid shit you never had before then wonder why you never did. Rubber collapsible collander, bread maker, crock pot, toaster oven - oh many the toaster oven. Never had one. Either had a microwave or oven. But the joy of reheating leftovers in a toaster oven rather than microwave or waiting 20 minutes for the oven is amazing.

The collapsible colander is already on my list! I bought myself a really nice chef's knife already haha.

I think there's a toaster oven that my mom wants to get rid of from my family's basement so it's time to go shopping there!

For the past 5 years I've had a Bissell CleanView Helix 82H1 that I got for 80 bucks and has been decent. It does a fairly decent job of sucking, but needs to be cleaned semi-often to keep sucking well. It's also a little heavy, which never really was a problem for me.

My gf's vacuum broke, and I've always felt this Bissell was just ok, so I brought it over to her place, we cleaned it up, and it's continuing to serve her well. Except it's heavy (to her) so when I'm over there she often asks me to carry it up the stairs for her.

I replaced it with a Shark Navigator Lift-Away Deluxe NV360 . It's a few pounds lighter than the Bissell, keeps on sucking even with a dustbin full of cat hair, and you can pull the canister and hose off from the floor base and have a semi-portable vacuum. But it's light enough even with the floor base that I don't bother lifting the canister off much.
